1:1 LESSONS

The majority of my career is based around playing live, but I enjoy making time for students provided they are interested in the instrument and looking to make progress! This can be at whatever rate it takes you to learn and however much time you have to practise. Whether you can spend 5 minutes twice a week or 3 hours a day - I can put together a plan for your progress. I teach all contemporary styles as well as jazz and latin.

I'm fully DBS/CPD certified, and teach from both my home studio in Salisbury, and at The Clayesmore School in Dorset. As a student myself, I have studied with Steve White, Pete Cater, and Pete Riley, and graduated from The Academy of Contemporary Music with first class honours. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

All students will receive their own folder for the material that we work on in lessons, as well as the resources used. You are welcome to film snippets of lessons on your phone if it's useful. Students can also access the resource page above.

FAQ's

> Am I too old to learn?

Most of my new private students are actually adults - since covid I've had a large uptake of students who want to play between ZOOM meetings - so no!

> How long will it take me to learn stuff!?

Depends how much practise time you get - If you can manage 10 minutes concentrated practise a day, you could do grade 1 in a month.

> Do I need to learn grades?

No - I always tailor lessons to suit what you want to do. Whether that's learning grooves to top 40 songs or going down the rabbit hole of jazz coordination and metric-modulation. If you just want to learn how to play in general, I can point you in the best direction!

> How do I book lessons?

Once a student has decided they want to continue after a taster session, I aim to keep them on the same time/day each week. I can also do fortnightly lessons if this lines up, or depending on your schedule you can also book ad-hoc lessons when available. You don't need to sign up for anything but I do ask for 24 hours notice before a lesson cancellation. Anything after this and I can charge up to the full rate via my discretion.

> What do you charge?

£38.00 / 60mins

£22.50 / 30mins
